Educational Technology

Our team combines infrastructure, data management, and desktop support services with on-site technology integration and instruction to meet the technology needs of all members of our learning community. Collaborating with the Department of Curriculum and Assessment, our educational goals include the capacity to ensure seamless integration of technology into the curriculum, the ability for all students to acquire 21st century skills, and the understanding that learning powered by technology can help transform education.

EDTech Operations

Infrastructure and Systems

online safetyAll of our routers, switches, and wireless access points are supported and maintained by our own EDTech Operations staff. We are proud to have 100% wireless network coverage which allows for seamless integration of digital resources in the classroom. In lieu of our newest initiative, the Innovative Learning Program (ILP), we are working towards having all of our buildings connected at 10 Gbps and currently offer a 100Mbps connection to the Internet. Our network is supported by two Internet Service Providers and maintains 98.9% uptime. We currently provide access to guest wireless upon request and are looking to be able to support a completely open guest network in the near future. Desktop Support Solutions

In support of over 2,000 devices, our desktop support team offers enhanced on-site services to our teachers, staff, and students. Our knowledgable and friendly team provides fast and effective troubleshooting of computer problems, on-site and remote installation of software and upgrades, and can evaluate needs and requirements of new hardware purchases. Along with a hosted online support system, users can request group and one-on-one training as needed.

EDTech Academics

Integration Technology

As we prepare students for a 21st century world that values innovation, creativity, and collaboration skills, our EDTech Instructional Technology team delivers site-based support for our students and staff. Our team believes that technology, wisely used, can inspire students to take responsibility for their own learning and enhance our curriculum. As an integral component to the district's Long Range Strategic Plan, our mission is to prepare our students to attain their full potential as life-long, productive citizens. Meet ABschools!

online safetyBuilt to support our entire learning community, ABschools (powered by Google Apps for Education), is our communication and collaboration platform. As a result, we have been able to steadily support our district-wide "Green Ribbon" status by reducing overhead costs of maintenance, while reducing our paper and printing needs.

Currently all 7th-12th grade students are actively using ABschools and we are looking to expand this into our elementary schools next year. It is our goal that students would be able to communicate with their peers and teachers for educational purposes, just as an employee might communicate with colleagues and supervisors: asking questions, organizing tasks, and collaboratively solving problems. The skills provided through ABschools are helping prepare our students for college and future careers.

EDTech Parents

Online Safety

online safetyWhile at school, parents can know that we take all necessary precautions to comply with the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA) and federal guidelines mandating how schools provide Internet access to students. EDTech employs a content filtering system to ensure safe Internet use. Our commitment to our students' safety is also supported through the use of our district-wide antivirus solution and our recently upgraded SonicWall Unified Threat Management device which provides a robust firewall and the ability to block the use of unwanted software applications. These policies apply wherever the student is using a district-owned device.

At Home

Although our schools teach students to be safe online and to maintain a morally positive digital footprint, young people continue to need guidance. To help our parents become active and knowledgeable with "everything digital" we've found these valuable online resources.
